Noel Rojas may very well be one of the most fascinating people in the cigar industry. I don’t write that lightly. Since his first trade show—then called the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show—back in 2013, he has renovated an old movie theatre in Estelí, Nicaragua into his Rojas Cigar Factory. He has bought farms in the Condega growing region of Nicaragua and the Jalapa region, which have allowed him to accumulate enough tobacco that Rojas told me that 100 percent of the filler and binder tobacco in every cigar he makes comes from those farms.
It is the fourth blend in the company’s Street Tacos Series, but only the third regular production release. Like the other cigars, it is named after a type of meat used for tacos; al pastor is pork that is roasted similar to shwarma, i.e. meat is piled onto spinning vertical spits and then cut off.
- Wrapper: Ecuador (Habano)
