My Father & Tatuaje ‘La Union’ Red cigars are a limited-edition collaboration between Tatuaje brand founder Pete Johnson and the Garcia family, the makers of My Father cigars. ‘La Union’ Red commemorates their twenty-year partnership. Pepin and Jaime Garcia have been producing the Tatuaje brand for Pete Johnson since he launched the company in 2003. ‘La Union’ Red consists of two distinct cigars, one by Johnson and one by the Garcias. Both blends are handmade in a 7.25-by-50 format with a tapered head called the Prominente Especial. Johnson’s blend is finished in an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper with a closed foot, while the Garcias’ cigar is blended with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and an open foot. Inside each blend is a spicy and woody interior of premium Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos, including the rare Pelo d’Oro varietal. The set includes 40 cigars, 20 of each blend, and a limited-edition Xikar Xi1 cutter. The cutter is included with box purchases only.
