Announced as the sequel to the Extra Añejo, released last year by Selected Tobacco, the Alfonso Gran Selección PCA 2023 is made for those consumers who want a more bold and darker flavor profile. This new release uses filler tobacco from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, bound beautifully in a Peruvian binder and wrapped gracefully using an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The Alfonso Gran Selección is aged partially in rooms lined with Spanish cedar and finally, using inspiration from winemaking, a room lined with French oak. The Alfonso Gran Selección is aged for a total of 5 years, just like the Extra Añejo and Byron 1850 which are also produced by Selected Tobacco.
