My Father Blue Honduras
Price range: $11.00 through $216.00 — or from Price range: $10.45 through $205.20 / month
Enter My Father Blue, the first ever blend to be released from My Father’s newly-opened factory in El Paraiso, Honduras. Adorned in a Connecticut Broadleaf rosado wrapper, it also showcases a Honduran binder and Corojo and Criollo long-fillers grown on the Garcia family’s first farm in Honduras, Finca La Opulencia. That’s notable because it’s new and exciting, but it’s made even more interesting when you read what the legendary Don Pepin Garcia, had to say of the Honduran tobacco in a recent Cigar Aficionado Interview: “when you blend it, it’s like a Cuban cigar from the good times.”
That’s probably enough hype. So does the blend live up? 100% yes, but not in the way you might think. For fans of the bold and peppery My Father Nicaraguan staples, this one is a bit of different animal. It’s complex, no doubt, but it has a smoothness and refined quality you’ll notice. It’s probably medium-bodied, but so smooth you may want to describe it as mild. Still, it’s packed with complex flavors of cedar, honey, earth, fruit, and more. If My Father’s Nicaraguan blends are a Bourbon or Rye, the My Father Blue is a finely aged Scotch. Both delicious, both whisk(e)y, but each so noticeably different.
