Noel Rojas may very well be one of the most fascinating people in the cigar industry. I don’t write that lightly. Since his first trade show—then called the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show—back in 2013, he has renovated an old movie theatre in Estelí, Nicaragua into his Rojas Cigar Factory. He has bought farms in the Condega growing region of Nicaragua and the Jalapa region, which have allowed him to accumulate enough tobacco that Rojas told me that 100 percent of the filler and binder tobacco in every cigar he makes comes from those farms.
This is the second release of the company’s limited edition that was created to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. According to Rojas, about 80 percent of the filler blend is made up of Connecticut broadleaf tobacco that has been aged for seven years.
