Father and son cigar-crafting duo, Julio R. Eiroa and Justo Eiroa of the JRE Tobacco Company dedicated seven years to developing the first cigar made entirely of Cameroon tobacco. The tobacco was grown from Cameroon seeds that were planted and harvested on farms owned by JRE in Honduras. Cameroon tobacco is well-regarded for its smoothness, beauty, and flavor so it is mostly used as wrapper. However, the leaf is stiff and thin, which makes it difficult to use. It is why most cigar crafters tend to shy away from it. But JRE persisted and produced a Cameroon-seed puro that exhibits this tobacco’s rich qualities from filler to wrapper.
